Situated in the extreme West of Bhutan, Paro is a prime tourist destination, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. Spread over a picturesque valley, Paro is one of the major districts in Bhutan and a town with immense historical importance. The town of Paro stands on the bank of Paro Chhu or Paro river, a tributary of the Raidak river or Wong Chhu, adding to its scenic beauty. Paro for God-gifted geographical location of Paro Valley makes it a very picturesque and romantic holiday destination. Paro is a verdant valley where you can see endless greeneries all around. The rural areas are almost forested and offer absolute tranquility that many people look for while choosing a holiday destination. If you are Nature lover, Paro will make you fall in love with her. If you are looking for a short trip or a vacation at a place right in the lap of Mother Nature, Paro is your perfect choice. You will feel like getting down slowly to the bottom of a bowl with high walls made of green mountains.

Paro is fabulously rich, in terms of tourist attractions, but to enjoy the vacation to the fullest, you should opt for exploring the district in your own way. There are plenty of interesting sites that you should visit in Paro but before getting out on a guided tour you may take a short walking trip through the roads that enjoy the company of the Paro Chhu. You may sit on the river bank for some time and stare at the bluish uneven lines of landscapes that form a wonderful backdrop for the serpentine river or opt for a trekking tour on the green mountain trails. Travelers could be categorized as beauty lovers and history lovers. There are lots of people who get attracted to places for their history, glorious pasts, monuments, and structures that stand as specimens of the bygone era. If you fall in the second category, Angelo-Cavalli-Paro-Dzong-Paro-bhutanParo will drag you through its ancient quarters, dark interiors of monasteries, temple complexes and other religious sites. Paro itself is a historic town ornamented with several historical buildings and sacred sites.

Taktsang Monastery : If you can brave the risky cliffs on a high mountain, Paro will astonish you in the form of Taktsang Monastery. After covering 1200 meters on a fierce cliff you will reach this sacred site, also known as the Tiger's Nest. Take a deep breath after reaching the spot and then comfort your eyes and soul with the stunning view of the scenic surroundings and the valley lying underneath. The Taktsang Monastery was established by Sain Guru Rinpoche who came to Bhutan in 747 CE. Construction of the complex was completed in 1694. Though major portions of the original buildings suffered damaged in 1998 due to a devastating fire, devotion and dedication of the Bhutanese people have got it them restored after lots of painstaking efforts. Discovering the Tiger's Nest after 3 hours of trekking is real adventure but you may also opt for a horse ride from the parking lot.

I just returned from a 10N 11D trip to Bhutan with NatureWings and had an amazing experience. It was a last minute trip, booked less than a month before I arrived in Bhutan. Thankfully, Sabitra responded to emails promptly and was able to organize the trip quickly, including the 3 day trek I requested.

Hi Lima & Sabitra, We are very much thankful to you for planning entire trip with so proper itinerary, without any hectic schedule. We were able to enjoy all beautiful places, clicking lots of photographs without any worries about reaching to next destination. Hotels were good. Food was great. Especially, we enjoyed ourselves much at Mrs. Sonam's house. She was a gem, very warm and kind hearted lady and great cook. We enjoyed food at her place more than any other since it was home made with love and care. Special thanks to her and Mr Sonam too. Mr. Parmesh, our driver was very helpful too and entertained us lot. He was our part-time guide too. Once again, I thank you for responding all my queries so patiently and for completing our trip with success and lots of good memories in Bhutan. I will blindly recommend NatureWings to anyone who is looking for Bhutan Trip in future.

Had a memorable Bhutan Vacation (Feb 2020) with NatureWings. Special thanks to Mr. Namgey & Ms. Sabitra for planning the trip. We were 9 adults accompanied by two infants. We were given a comfortable 16 seater coaster. The driver and tour guide were very well informed and friendly. We had a pleasant stay (2N) at Osel, Thimpu. Punakha was splendid with Zhinkham Resorts (1N). In Paro, due to lack of availability we were given two rooms in Tashinamgay and Taktsang (3N). While Tashinamgay was good, I would not recommend Taktsang Boutique Resort at all. Overall we had a great experience in the beautiful country of Bhutan ... Tashi Delek!
